Doctors Care Opens New Clinic To Specifically Treat Knee Pain

Beaufort, S.C. – Doctors Care is pleased to announce that on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, their newest OsteoArthritis Clinic will open at Doctors Care Beaufort. This new clinic is designed specifically to help treat pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee and is conveniently located inside the Doctors Care Beaufort medical facility on 1510 South Ribaut, Port Royal, SC 29935.
Doctors Care opened their first OsteoArthritis Clinic in the Midlands in 2009. Since then, the medical staff has treated close to one thousand patients across the state for knee pain. According to Doctor Thomas Gibbons, President and Chief Medical Officer of Doctors Care, the patient success rate has been phenomenal.
“While there is no cure for osteoarthritis, the combination of treatments that we are able to provide at this new clinic has brought relief to many of our patients. Over the past 4 years, we have been serving osteoarthritis patients in the Columbia, Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Greenville, and our medical team has seen an 85 percent or higher success rate.”
The newest OsteoArthritis Clinic at Doctors Care Beaufort will offer the same innovative, non-surgical treatment for relieving painful osteoarthritis. Doctors Care is the only physician practice in South Carolina accredited by the Osteoarthritis Centers of America that provides knee surgery prevention programs such as Viscosupplementation.
Viscosupplementation is an injection that acts as a natural lubricant and shock absorber. Doctors explain that it creates a cushion between the bones of the knee, which reduces pain and swelling and involves minimal downtime. Once treatment is completed, the OsteoArthritis Clinic at Doctors Care will coordinate on-site physical through a partnership with Progressive Physical Therapy to help accelerate a full recovery for the patient.
“Anyone who has ever considered having knee replacement surgery knows that it can be very costly. At the OsteoArthritis Clinic at Doctors Care Beaufort, our highly trained physicians will be able to relieve your pain and also delay or eliminate the need for surgery,” says Doctor Barry Fitch, President of Progressive Physical Therapy.
Patients who maybe interest in learning more are invited to join Doctors Care and Progressive Physical Therapy staff members for an informational seminar on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. The seminar is free of charge, and will be held at 4 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 1500 Queen Street, Beaufort, SC 29902.
