Post Offer Employment Testing
A Post Offer Employment Test (POET) determines a prospective workers'
functional abilities or limitations so that he or she can be
appropriately matched with a worksite. The test, which ensures that
exposure to forces on the job is approximately equal to what the screen
suggests the worker can tolerate, can be an effective management tool
to decrease disability-related costs, as well as minimize possible
work-related injuries.
The certified professionals at Progressive Physical Therapy administer
Post Offer Employment Tests to assist employers in guiding new
employees to the appropriate departments within a company.
The screening we perform provides companies with a fair assessment of
employees' abilities with regard to the job's requirements. The
concise, targeted tests that our certified professionals use are
determined by analyzing the actual job or jobsite through an ergonomic
assessment. The information gathered is then used to put together a
series of tests or tasks which mimic the actual job itself, including
lifting from floor to waist, lifting from waist to overhead, and
stepping. These individual tests, which are assigned grades and values,
are then administered by one of our therapists in our centers. The
results are then sent to the employer who utilizes the information to
determine where the employee should be placed.
