Industrial Medicine

The industrial medicine services we offer at all of our Progressive Physical Therapy locations make it convenient for injured workers to receive the specialized care and treatment they need. All across South Carolina, we are helping patients return to the workforce with the best and most expedient results possible.

Our full spectrum of rehabilitative therapies develops and restores optimal physical function in injured workers. From computer operators' repetitive motion injuries and common spine disorders to warehouse workers' injuries caused from heavy lifting—we can address a wide range of work-related conditions, all while reducing recovery times.

We know that when workers are injured on the job, employers feel the impact. That's why our staff is committed to keeping employers informed of patient progress, return-to-work status, and treatment recommendations. Through regular phone calls, detailed reports, and other correspondence, we provide timely communication with physicians, case workers, and employers.

Our industrial medicine services include:
Studies show that injured workers can recover faster when they return to work sooner, performing light duties or limited tasks. That's why our therapists work closely with patients, developing an individualized treatment plan designed to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function and provide education that may prevent future disabilities.

Back and neck problems are the most common work-related injuries. Our unique approach to therapy strengthens the muscles that help support the spine, stopping the instability that causes pain.

We perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) to assess validity and physical ability. Our therapists use a Matheson-based approach, along with technology from BET and the ER system.

We work with employers to meet their work testing needs. We provide on-the-job injury management and post-offer employment testing (POET) to identify pre-existing conditions that could limit a workers' ability to perform their job safely and lead to workers' comp claims down the line.
